Comments regarding DW's diet changes-

Followed LE diet loosely for 2 weeks (cut out meat, potatoes etc) and strictly for 8 weeks prior to attempt. Skipped breakfast daily, lunch was either rice cakes and fat free cottage cheese with cucumber, or white bread with the same. Dinner was often a cuppa soup with rice cakes or plain pasta with parmesan, boiled veges. I had chicken about 4 times, no eggs, red meat, became almost vege. Also drank pepsi light daily, used aspartame in all hot drinks.

2 weeks cutting out main offenders, 8 weeks strict prior to attempt

Comments regarding DH's diet-

No significant changes but he ate what I made so I prepared limited red meat, lots of pasta and rice dishes with chicken and more vege meals

No, I drink caffeine regularly

With both my boys I cut out caffeine and alcohol a month before trying so I decided to do the opposite this time. I was also on a pre-natal for a full month before conceiving.

What did you weigh/BMI do leading up to O?

68.4kg's (BMI 24) when I started diet
62.7kg's (BMI 22) at O day on attempt

Any Weight/Exercise related additional info/comments?

I lost a total of 5.7kg's (12.5 pounds) in 10 weeks. I started off exercising 3 times a week for an hour each time and the week before O I exercised 6 times in 10 days for an hour each time. I did absolutely no exercise with my boys so again, although below the recommended amount, I felt this was different to what I did with my boys.

I got my first +OPK at 8pm on 10/09 and we DTD at 9pm that night. I continued to get a +OPK the following day 11/09 along with O pains so I believe I ovulated the day after first +OPK. By 12/09 my OPK was negative.

Hubby had abstained for 6 days. I didn't want to go more than a week as he has motility issues. Hot shower before BD. I also lay flat for 5 minutes (timed by my alarm clock!) prior to dumping again to give DH's swimmers some help! I had some EWCM in the days leading up to O as I always do. Prior to our attempt I reached up and scooped around (sorry, TMI) to get rid of any excess!!

DH also took Vitamin C
He is on daily hayfever medication and has been for last 3 years. I took antihistamine from CD 5 - CD 18. Vitex: 2 x 400mg from CD 1 - CD 16.

Did you do anything with Ions?

Yes - hot showers daily. Ceiling fans on. Tried to limit time on computer. I also used Lavender oil directly on the skin every day for 10 weeks.

Moon Phase during conception?

Waxing Gibbous

Did you use any Old Wives Tales?

Yes - a dress of mine that my mom had saved since I was a baby and a wooden spoon under bed.

Things that make me feel great about my sway:

My weight loss, one time attempt, DH's age and low sperm motility - hoping this sways pink? Moon phase and gender sign - Scorpio which is female.

Things that make me nervous about my sway:

First attempt resulted in BFP so obviously still very fertile. Only on Vitex for this cycle and it didn't change my O day so feel like it probably didn't do much. Length of abstinence.

Things worth mentioning:

After 2 unsuccessful IVF / PGD attempts for a girl, this is my SECOND natural girl sway (first one resulted in DS2). I did many things different from then as I was following the In-Gender site. I have given it my all and if this is my 3rd son then I know I was not meant to have a daughter.

Hi, I can I ask you where you did pgd/ivf for a girl? I am from the uk we thinking of doing genesis in cyprus but i have noticed alot of ladies giving it at least 3 tries and sometimes still BPN. I have a son and another due any day now! I tried the Shettles method for him to be a girl but its boy ) we are going to give it one more shot for a girl and I heard about this atomic plan how do you get to find it on here does anybody know? I wish you all the luck with trying for a girl ))

Thank you ladies! Lolo I'm in South Africa, I did my PGD here. I tried twice unsuccessfully. I think ultimately it comes down to luck and number of tries. I think if you can go 4, 5, 6 times etc then you will more than likely be successful but most people can only afford 2 or 3 times. And proven fertility makes no difference. Remember you are chosing 8 or 9 (depending on number of eggs collected) sperm to fertilize the eggs, and those may not be the best sperm of the bunch! In nature, there is more chance of the best sperm fertilizing the egg. Out of my 17 eggs collected over 2 attempts, ONE was normal! Yet I have fallen pregnant first time on 3 attempts naturally so clearly I don't have any fertility problems. It is truly heartbreaking to have over 50 injections (myself being a needle phobic!) Followed by a general aneasthetic to retrieve the eggs only to be told it was for nothing! But, I don't regret doing it, I now know I tried everything to get a girl and if it doesn't happen, it wasn't meant to be. I didn't purchase a plan from atomic, I'm sure one of the other ladies can chip in here. I just followed the basic le rules amoung the other swaying factors found on here. Good luck! You will love having 2 boys, they will be the bestest of friends and mommy is their princess!
