Comments regarding DW's diet changes-

I tried to decrease the overall amount of calories I was eating in the weeks leading up to ovulation. I would skip meals sometimes or just eat a light breakfast really late around after 12 noon. I avoided bananas and tomatoes as much as possible (bananas was easy, but tomatoes were trickier as I love tomatoes.)

If diet was used, length of time before attempt?

A couple of weeks leading up to O, I was more conscious of my calorie intake and tried to eat much less.

No change at all... he ate whatever he wanted.

I only used RePhresh gel before our attempt on the day before ovulation. The other two attempts we did not use any lubricants at all.

After ovulation, I stopped most supplements and only took: B6, Folic Acid, Magnesium, and added in Prenatal Vitamins and Baby Aspirin.

Did you do anything with Ions?

Constantly had a fan running in our room (both a ceiling fan and a tower stand fan), and I had a stand fan on blowing toward my desk area whenever I was at the computer in the week or two leading up to O. It was raining ALL day on the day I ovulated. I also purchased an Ionic hairdryer and began using that about a week before O.

Did you use any Old Wives Tales?

Wooden spoon under the bed, pink baby afghan under bed with an adorable girly outfit. I also had a pink ribbon tied under my pillow.

Things that make me feel great about my sway:

I ended up ovulating extremely early, on cycle day 10 (I normally ovulate CD 14 or 15) and I think this was a result of the Saw Palmetto since it was my first cycle trying this supplement. I feel good about O'ing early since atomic says anything that can "shake things up" and change your cycle a lot to make it different than when you conceived your boys is good. I also know it's maybe silly, but I ovulated on a day when the entire day was a girl moon sign (Cancer) -- in the past I have ovulated on the day of a boy moon (hence my two sons) and also have ovulated on the cusp where I was unsure if I ovulated in the girl phase or boy phase. I don't know how much this plays a role, but it definitely makes me feel good about this sway.

The fact I got DH on board to take Licorice Root, Cranberry, Calcium, & Magnesium and not his normal men's multivitamin for two weeks before my ovulation also gives me peace of mind that we did what we could on his end to help.

I did a LOT of praying... I have been praying for a daughter for a long time, but I also prayed that God will bless us with a healthy baby first and foremost and that if He sees fit for us to raise a girl then to bless us with a little girl. I feel like the power of prayer is bigger than any sway I could have done. I feel really confident in my sway that I did the absolute best that I could do for my situation since I knew I was not going to follow some crazy strict diet... so I relied on prayer to keep me grounded and sane.

I think the thing that makes me feel most great about my sway was using Saw Palmetto. It drastically shook things up to be different than my other cycles. Also, I conceived and still did use RePhresh during our last attempt and I was starting to wonder if RePhresh was killing off all the sperm so I was going to drop it next month if it hadn't happened this month for us.... but I ended up not having to do that.

Things that make me nervous about my sway:

We ended up conceiving from doggy style position. I have a very tilted uterus and just was NOT getting pregnant in the previous months doing missionary. I don't feel too nervous about this though as I know we conceived our second son from missionary position so at least this was a different position. I also didn't follow a strict diet so that has me wondering how much I could have royally messed this up.

Things worth mentioning:

I should also note that I am a breastfeeding mother and nurse my son twice daily.

I am 100% happy with my sway and so excited to be pregnant. I have had a lot of chemical pregnancies and one blighted ovum missed miscarriage before my second son. I am very nervous, but am trusting in God and praying for a healthy baby. I know I did what I could to help sway, and I am ok with whatever gender baby I ultimately get since I know that is who is meant to join our family. I'd love a little girl, but if I end up with another boy, that's ok, too. I love my boys and I know another one would complete our family. This is our last baby as hubby is done after this (I had to beg for a third baby so this was my last shot for a little girl.)

I had the Harmony blood test done at 11 weeks... got the results back... it's a HEALTHY baby BOY I didn't get a girl, but that's ok. I'm meant to be a boy mom. I'm very excited for this new little man to join our family this summer!!

Hi Carly I also didn't do a strict diet sway whilr TTC a girl. Gender of my baby is unknown at this stage. I'll be interested to hear your results, good luck!
