  1. 1st Shot Done - and my schedule

This morning I did my first Lupron shot. It was no big deal. Super tiny needle. Pinched for maybe a millisecond and that was it. I can do this!

I'm on the very standard Long Lupron protocol. Here it is for whomever is curious.

I've been on BCPs since day 2 of my last period. Then starting today as Day 1:

    Day #

    1 BCP & Lupron & Zpack (antiobiotic)

    2 BCP & Lupron & Zpack

  2. GSN Consult

This evening I had my GSN consult with one of their genetic counselors. Earlier this week DH and I swabbed our cheeks with the test kit they sent and sent the samples back to GSN. I learned some really interesting and helpful information and statistics.

For each cell tested, there is a 33% chance that it is "normal." (I believe this is specific to my age category of under 36, but not certain).

  3. Semen Analysis Re-do (he passed!)

What a difference a week (and a few other changes) can make! Today we got the results from DH's second SA and he passed (i.e., we are approved for MS)! Volume was 2.2 ml, concentration 69 million per ml, for a total of approx. 140 million. I am in shock at the huge improvement. Here's what DH did differently (he's my hero):

    - Drank a TON of water all week. Morning of the SA, woke up and started drinking water, water, water.

    - Upped his vitamins to 4 Fertility Blend ...

  4. Precycle Testing

Well, we're going to do another Semen analysis later this week and we're hoping for a better result so we can qualify for MS. In the meantime, here's a rundown of the precycle testing that I went through this month.

On Day 4 of my cycle I had my blood taken (5 vials!). I went to a local Labcorp facility. When I first walked in with HRC's orders for bloodwork, they said they either needed a Labcorp requisition form or the Labcorp 6-digit codes for each test. I emailed Lori (Dr. ...
  5. PGD 101

For those who aren't familiar with the many forms of PGD, here's a primer. What you often see posted on the board is someone referring to "2 probe" or "5 probe" or "24 probe GSN" and sometimes "CGH."

"Probe" refers to how many chromosomes are tested. For "2 probe" just the X and Y are tested. for "5 probe" it's X, Y, and three others. For "24 probe GSN" all 24 chromosomes are tested.
