    Those who have had the mirena

    How long did it take for your cycle to return? I got mine out yesterday and I haven't really had a real period in almost 3 years. I've just spotted here and there.

    I had mine removed last November and started having normal cycles in January. I had a LOT of heavy bleeding after removal and then one short cycle before returning to normal cycles.

    It took 2weeks for my period. My ob told me I was about to ovulate when I went to remove it. Period was like before I placed it. I had it on for 7 years and had no period at all for this time.

    It took 6 weeks to get my first proper period after the Mirena removal.

    I got AF after about a week so I must have ovulated just before having it out. I then got AF again after 4 weeks. Then my body went wacky as it remembered it has pcos so I had 6 week plus length cycles but that's not the mirena's fault.
