    Which NIPT test??

Hello all! I'm currently 9 weeks and am looking into NIPT. In the UK this has to be done privately, and we can choose between a number of NIPT tests: Harmony and Serenity seem the most common, but Panorama and NIFTY are also options.

Does anyone have any information on the difference between these various tests? I've looked at the statistics on accuracy rates and they seem similar; Harmony is not quite as accurate but is by far the most common test performed. Otherwise, I can't see clear advantages/disadvantages (prices all similar). I'm currently thinking either Harmony or Serenity, but am really unsure what to do! Any help or advice would be very much appreciated

Good luck to all, and thanks very much!

    Hi naturediva.
I'm in Australia and have just found out I'm pregnant. We're thinking we'll get NIPT done for this little one too.
I didn't realise there were different types!
I've only heard of Harmony here so I'm keen to hear other people's responses to this.
    Congrats on your BFP!

Hi thirdtimeclucky, congrats on your BFP!!

There are different types of NIPT test (you can read about some of them here, click on the specific links: https://www.thisismy.co.uk/non-invas...natal-testing/), but this depends on the country. I read about several available in the USA that aren't available here in the UK. The Harmony test is a good one, and the one used in the Fetal Medicine Clinic I went to in London (https://fetalmedicine.com/harmony-test) - the professor who runs the clinic and associated research centre is one of the top fetal medicine specialists in the world. So I trust the Harmony test I considered doing the Serenity test instead as it has better detection rates for Patau's syndrome (98% vs. 93.4% so both good, really). But I decided I preferred going to the FMC for their expertise.

Sadly, we discovered at the scan they do before the blood test that one of the babies (was a shock to find out it was twins!) didn't develop past the very early stages, and the other didn't have a heartbeat and measured 3 weeks too small. So, looks like a mmc x2. We go back for a confirmation scan next week It's heartbreaking, after so many months of preparation and swaying and hoping...

I wish you all the very best in your pregnancy, and hope you get your little girl!

Thank you. It's been a tough week, but we're coming through it and looking forward to our little one, who will come to us someday! I'm sad for what could have been but not giving up hope
