Hi Atomic,
Thankyou for replying.
I went for follicular scan today, today is my cd10. I was not taking any medicines which my re prescribed. I have two follicles, right ovary 29mm and left 26mm. Is 29mm too big? Can it be a cyst?

It might be. It's definitely larger than the average especially for CD 10.
Can you tell me about the amount of carby foods you're eating?? Sugary stuff, grains, lots of starchy/sugary fruits like potatoes or bananas? Fruit juice? We may need to dial it back some on those things.!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Hi Atomic,
Yes even i think so. Shall i avoid IUI this month?
I have cut back a lot on grains and strachy fruits and veggies. I have avoided all kind of fruits, i am only taking low crb veggies. Since i am vegetarian, cant avoid lentils and grains.
Breakfast 1- tea with high fibre biscuit
Breakfast 2- lentil pancake or some egg with 1 bread (protein with carbs)
Snack- spinach soup with pumpkin seed
Lunch- 1 bread with veggies and cheese/ lentils
Snack- coconut water with almonds
Dinner -same as lunch
Snack- full fat yogurt
Let me know where i can cut down. All are small portions. I am also doing 40 mins of exercise for 5 days.
Felt very light after controlling portions.

I also want to update you, last month with metformin and femara, follicular size on cd 20 was 24. So this month i am responding very well even without medicines.
My total sugar intake per day is 1 spoon and i also take 1 spoon of coconut oil.

No I'm fine with you doing IUI this month if you want to, if the doc thinks it's an egg and not a cyst!
Oh, yes, I see, it's pretty hard to do lower carb when you're a vegetarian.
Are you deliberately avoiding dairy other than the yogurt?
I'd have you up intake of full fat dairy and eggs and cut back on the grains and lentils somewhat but keep eating nuts.
Something I see frequently is that vegetarians with PCOS sometimes even have to give up legumes and beans totally or mostly to be sure they are not getting too many carbs. I'm not saying you should do that yet, but I'd def. cut back on the lentils in favor of eggs, cheese, yogurt.!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Hi Atomic,
I will definitely cut back on lentils and grains. I will up cheese and yogurt. How much cheese and yogurt are allowed on PCOS. I was avoiding because of PCOS.
One more question since i my eggs are growing faster as compared to previous month, does that mean i am responding well to pcos diet or growing eggs too fast is a sign of poor fertility?
Anyway i am going for an ultrasound tomorrow and i will update you.
I could not thank enough of you

I'm lost - why would cheese and yogurt be bad on PCOS? Did someone tell you that?
Cheese will be better than yogurt because it has fewer carbs, so just wanted to be sure you knew that.
Full fat ONLY no skim or part skim. Skim dairy IS bad for PCOS
I can't tell if it's a good sign or not because I don't know if this is a good egg or a cyst! If it's a cyst then that isn't good, if it's an egg that's great. I'm sorry it's just beyond my ability to know from here.
"eggs growing fast" is not a bad sign but a cyst is not good, obviously.

Atomic, my doc told me to have less dairy as it raises testosterone which is i why i was limited to one serving in the form of yogurt. But now i will increase upto 3 servings including cheese as well.

3 servings is fine. Full fat only. Skim dairy really is bad for PCO.
Telling someone who has PCOS to (in effect) eat more carbs because "dairy raises testosterone" is not great advice IMVVHO. Carbs are not your friend here. you need more protein and good fat, less carbs. Since you're a vegetarian, that leaves you with dairy and eggs. I think it's really going to help for you to make that change but if you feel like it makes things worse then go back to what you were eating before..!!! Questions?? Yes, i will up my dairy contents and will check my nutrition through my fitness pal.
Sorry for asking so many questions. But what happens to the cyst, do they need treatment or they resolve themselves? Do they affect next cycle?
