Girl Swaying -- Vitex
Hi -
My hubby and I are planning on TTC end of April and have started our "sway" plan. I bought the general sway for TTC girl and have started some supplements, including Vitex. I have been on the diet now for six months and have lost 25 lbs. This is my first month experimenting with supplements (Vitex) and it has delayed ovulation now by two weeks (still haven't ovulated). My cycle is VERY NORMAL and I am kind of distraught. How important is Vitex to a sway? I read on a forum it is 50/50. Is this number still accurate? Do you recommend I continue with this supplement? I would prefer not to have 40+ day cycles and since we are TTC I would like to have more consistency for planning purposes. Thank you!!!

It's not at all important and it is fine if you leave it out.
Ditch it!
What is your BMI now? Losing too much weight can also delay O so i may be time to stop losing weight.

OK thank you so much for responding. I am not going to take it after this cycle and just stick to everything else prescribed on the general sway plan. My current BMI is 18.1. I've had no problems with "O" until this month with the Vitex so I am pretty sure they are related.

Eventually the diet and weight loss does catch up with you though. But the combo of low weight and vitex is really a double whammy and does often stop ovulation.
Do not lose any more weight. You're already below the cutoff point of 18.5 and you cannot spare another ounce!!

OK thanks. In your opinion, do you think Vitex or Saw Palmetto is more important to a sway? Now I am worried about starting SP with how much Vitex has messed up my cycle this month. I am going to try SP next cycle and see if it does anything, but looking for your thoughts? Thanks again!

Neither and they both mess up your cycle so I'd probably skip that as well.

Atomic, this may sound crazy but I’ve been reading about moon phases… I have a ‘red moon cycle’ currently which I didn’t used to have. Meaning my period is coinciding with the full moon. From...
