About to begin PGD . . . Confused.
Hello ladies,
My husband and I have decided to try PGD in order to have a daughter. We had an initial consultation, and the doctor said that will my age (32), and the fact that I have three boys, that I should only transfer one at a time (if we get normal girls) as transferring more than that won't increase my chances of a baby sticking. She said that it would be about 70% whether I transfer one or two. Does this sound right? It seems from reading the posts on this site and others that the percentage it would work on the first try is so much lower than that.
We only have enough to try once (and one FET, if we have enough normal girls), so I want to make sure that we're doing everything we can to increase our chances.
Thanks so much!

Dr. P gave me an 80% chance of being a ohw. I'm not so sure. We are transferring 2 if we have enough embryos.

70% does seem a little high however she is correct in saying transferring more than one does not increase your chances

Look at ASRM: Infertility, Reproduction, Menopause, Andrology, Endometriosis, Diagnosis and Treatment at your clinic's stats for the under 35 age group and look at the Donor egg stats. Make sure you are working with a good clinic.
The % doesn't mean a whole lot. Have you had pretesting? Even at 32, your pretesting may not be great. If it is, then you would have an excellent chance of it working.Mom to

70% would be possible IF you use 24-chromosome testing too. It is a bit of a waste to put back 2 fully tested embryos because usually both stick or neither and if nether do, you just wasted a good embryo on a possible implantation issue.
