Follow up question on when to sway

I asked a question previously and can't seem to find it. I had my second girl at the end of June and would like to ttc a boy. I feel like atomic told me to wait a year so my body could heal. I had a great delivery and healed quickly, I didn't even need pain meds in the hospital. Could this mean I can ttc earlier? I would really like to start trying in March but don't want to hurt my chances. I will most likely still be breastfeeding as well. Anyone have an opinion on this?

In "theory", giving your body time to restore your nutrients and getting to an age where you aren't bf as much would help a blue sway. That being said, it doesn't seem to sway much in practice and if you really want your kids close together or are "older" (over 35) there's nothing wrong with starting sooner.

Your body needs 18 months to recover from a pregnancy/restore lost nutrients, etc. closer spacing is really hard on it, especially if you do a few times in a row.

I think if you aren't TTC until March you will have given your body enough time.

All the mommies I know with littles close together (less than 18 mo) have girls, but that is admittedly a small sample size. BFing sways girl, and like pp sayid it really takes your body a solid 12-18 months to get back in the lost nutrients and heal properly, despite an easy delivery. Mar-May is also the best months to conceive a girl, (statistically more girls conceived these months) while sept-nov is best for a boy. You may want to wait a little bit longer to get the absolute best sway. If you're in a hurry though, you can always try earlier, it's your sway!

It has nothing to do with how quickly you bounce back after childbirth. your body gets depleted overall by pregnancy and childbirth and that first 3 months of nursing so if you want to be in with your best chance of blue, I'd give it a year. It doesn't mean you can't get a boy sooner, it's just not going to be optimal.

additionally your hormones are not going to be maximum fertility because your body doesn't want to have babies so close together.

Okay thanks everyone. I guess I have a hard decision. My husband is older than me and will be nearing his mid-40's He's already worried about that and doesn't want to wait but we'd love a boy. It's taken a lot to convince him to even try again. Tough decision!

Well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do and if that's the only way to get him on board, go for it.

My hsuband has also had a hard time having our littlez in his 40's so I totally understand.
