    Complications with sway

So I've recently been informed that my FSH level is 12. On day 3 of the next cycle, I'll be going to the RE for more comprehensive testing.

I've already been encouraged to make some changes. While a lot of what I've been eating is good, it's been suggested I cut out processed foods, most grains, and decrease red meat. In an attempt to always have carbs with my protein, I've been eating more processed food.

Any ideas on how I can continue HE while also taking these suggestions? I believe I will lose some weight and I'm wondering if that's detrimental? I have gained since I started this but I'm still not considered overweight but I'm getting there!!

I've also been encouraged to drink raspberry leaf tea which I know is encouraged for girls.

I'm just at a loss. I'm trying to deal with this potentially devastating diagnosis but also wanting to do what I can to get pregnant and have a boy. When I conceived dd2 I had an unexplained diagnosis and she was conceived through IUI. I started swaying but dropped everything when I finally got pregnant with her. I don't want to do that again.

I'm a plant based, mostly unprocessed eater & still got my boy & gained weight!!! Sweet potatoes are very good for you & very yummy with hummus! Nuts, nuts & more nuts! Protien smoothies are also good, lentils, lots of greens.... It's very doable! I ate absolutely no meat during my sway, so it's not a kill all if you can't eat red meat.... Pearl also got a boy on a veggie sway diet... Unprocessed foods are better for you, more nutritious, so better for boy diet!!! That's my thoughts anyways.... Sorry your having such a hard time, hoping you get your boy soon!! I'm sure more ladies will give you tips

Diet won't change your FSH. The HE diet is a boy friendly, healthy diet. It should only help you.

If you needed an IUI to conceive before I'm not sure anything has really changed. Did you ever have testing then? A FSH of 12 is t the end of the world! Far from it.

Thanks ladies. My tests were normal when I had my last dd so we were unexplained although we conceived her on the 9th cycle. I guess we jumped the gun on visiting the RE and didn't wait the whole year.

I think I'm having trouble coming to terms with everything since I was pregnant twice right away. It just doesn't seem like my fertility would drop that much in 5 years but I guess it has.

Raspberry Leaf Tea is for BLUE, not pink.

In this thread I have the alternate HE Diet for people with PCO, lots of weight to lose, and those going HT. This will help http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...rt-3-pcos.html

Just use fruit and veg and nuts as your carbs for your protein + carbs. No need for grains or processed foods.

Personally I think red meat is good for fertility - better than white meat chicken and pork, that's for sure. I think if you're dropping red meat for white meat chicken and pork that's a step in the wrong direction. It's also a step in the wrong direction to trade red meat for legumes/soy as many of them have compounds that may inhibit fertility. Not saying you can never have those things but just that I personally believe, and research indicates that they aren't going to necessarily be an improvement. I would also have you including full fat dairy and eggs if you aren't already.

Don't worry about the weight situation, that's not something that has been a very strong correlation for us. Just do what you need to do and see how it goes.

    ARe you doing weight training??

Thanks! I was actually thinking about keeping the red meat because we only buy certified organic. I'm eating the serving size of nuts and will probably eat a little more now that I've cut out the processed carbs. I also eat two eggs a day, oatmeal, protein shake with whole milk, berries, and greens. I do need to add more vegetables to my diet. 90% of what we eat is organic, especially meats, produce, and dairy. I had been getting off track with how healthy I was eating this summer so I'm going back to it with just a few cheat days this holiday season. I can't say no to sweets and bad foods at Christmas! I'll just limit it to specific occasions. Thanks again for the advice!!

Your diet is ALREADY better and more fertility friendly than most!!

I do not think your diet is the problem here at all and I don't want you to get overly restrictive on yourself either esp. with the holidays coming up.

YOu're doing great! Keep up the good work.
