    Question PCOS and coffee

I’ve been drinking lots of coffee as part of my sway (with a dash of whole milk and sweetener)and been really enjoying it! Never drank it when I conceived my son was a big tea drinker, my question is I’m getting confused with the recommendation for coffee and pcos, I really hope it’s ok I’ve been using it in my sway even though I have pcos!?

I've been wondering the same thing! I had given up coffee for my girl sway, then read here to add it back in (yay). But then I went for the PCOS LE girl sway diet, and I saw it says no coffee there... I would love to know the answer!

I've been having one half-cup each morning.

Fwiw, I drank loads of coffee when I conceived my two boys, but I also ate loads of carbs and protein shakes.

Yes coffee is still recommended on PCOS diet! There is something in it that's thought to lower/regulate blood sugar - which is good for PCOS & girl sway. And you can add a bit of milk/creamer! I put sugar free syrup & a little whole milk in mine. If you're on PCOS diet you should use whole milk or a creamer w/o a lot of sugar/carbs in it rather than skim milk.

Agree with what ABC said. This was years and years ago but I remember a study that found those who regularly drink black coffee had a lower risk of type 2 diabetes. This I think would help those with PCOS since many ladies with it also have insulin resistance. I've seen lots of ladies here doing PCOS diet with coffee and still getting girls.

Coffee is fine on PCOS Diet. I should probably delete that part because I have way more info now and I can say 100% that it's fine for you guys to have coffee.

and just to further expound, the original study that claimed coffee was bad for PCO had people drink it and then right after that immediately tested BS levels. But followup studies have found pretty definitively that it isn't what happens right aftter you drink it that matters. Over the course of hte day coffee drinkers had lower BS levels on average and better insulin response. So even though it was shown in one study to make BS go up, over the course of time it is actually benefitical for blood sugar and insulin response.

Strongly recommend coffee for everyone swaying pink.
