I went for my scan today & i'm measuring a week ahead - 13wks 6 days which I know is NOT ideal. Anyway, here is the very confusing shot. Very boyish skull, & I thought the sticking up thing was the nub, BUT, the sono said "No that's not the nub - THIS is the nub" & put the pointer on it. She knew we were nub hunting so she said "I'll leave the marker there for you for when you're looking later." Photo 2 is a potty shot - yes I know, not accurate BUT, photo A is my shot & photo B is a confirmed girl shot at 14 weeks from someone else. They're almost identical. My gut feeling is still boy but these shots have thrown me big time!!

I think the skull looks girly, a very soft curve on it so if there was no nub I would have guessed girl off of that, its just those 'nubs!' the 'girl' nub just looks a fraction too low, and the 'boy' nub just has me slightly second guessing. The potty shot does have me leaning blue though, yours seems slightly larger in scale compared to the legs and amount it protrudes down the legs which switches me to the smallest boy guess, maybe 55/45. But I will be over the moon to be wrong on this one!!!!!!!

ELP it's Doubtful - we really can't afford it. I think I'm just going to try to chill out. I really don't mind either way. In fact I suddenly got all panicky about the idea of a girl this morning because I've been so sure it's a boy & we had a boy name picked & everything. I keep staring at that "boy nub" too. The sonographer was very adamant that it was not the nub & very certain that the other part was the nub. she Used the pointer to explain all the other bits around to illustrate why that bit isn't the nub & then resettled the pointer on what she said was the nub & said "Look, I'll leave it there for when you're looking later." She was middle aged & said in conversation that she has been doing ultrasounds for over 20 years. Even so I keep staring at it thinking "but maybe she was wrong..." Which is probably mad given her experience. I asked for her guess but she said she wasn't allowed to at this early stage.

I would trust her experience She probably saw the 'boy' bit floating around getting in the way throughout the scan so knew to discount it

Is that how to read potty shots! I have never known what to look for in detail, but looking for the split makes sense lol!!
Primal, if you have a sono saying pink nub, the potty split and to me that head is extremely soft and girly, I would have faith in being confirmed your little girl for xmas!! How exciting!!

Thanks all. I've actually decided to take a break from this site for a while. I want my relaxed, non-gender-obsessive pregnancy back!! I'm not sure how long I'll stay off for but I'll definitely come back after the scan to update & be back on here regularly by then because I'm going to really miss it. I don't do social media whatsoever (no Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) so this has been my only online friendship group. Thanks so much & I will be back with either pink or blue news in a few weeks. Xx

Just thought I would update this & say I am expecting a little boy in 10 weeks. It has been 12 weeks since I found out & I am ok - no sympathy please! We are really excited about meeting our little guy.

Atomic, this may sound crazy but I’ve been reading about moon phases… I have a ‘red moon cycle’ currently which I didn’t used to have. Meaning my period is coinciding with the full moon. From...
