I know it sounds wierd but I've had 4 boys and only ever had nausea with them and at different times of the day. Yet I'm now approaching 5 weeks and nothing, nada! Just a few cramps left and right 🤔
No sickness, no cravings! Is it to early? Am I having another boy cos I assumed if it was a girl I would be hugging the toilet puking!
I have little appetite and only been eating dinner and fruit during the day and been really hyper (nesting already) ha ha
Anyway any thoughts

There is nothing to this. It's an old wives' tale.

Studies show that only with the very most severe form of morning sickness, hyperemesis, there is a 3% greater chance it's a girl than a boy. That's it. Only 3%. Regular morning sickness rates and intensity were identical regardless of baby's gender.

I and several other people on here had less ms with our daughters than our sons and lots of others had pregnancies with the same genders and different (wildly so) amounts and intensity of morning sickness.

The Y chromosome is dormant at this stage of gestation. It is not making testosterone and you cannot be having different symptoms between boys and girls.

5 weeks is still early to experience morning sickness so it may still be on its way. This is my third baby and I've had no morning sickness this time. I had it with DS1 and DS2 though so it was strange for me to not experience it. I'm 16.5 weeks along now so I think it's safe to say I won't get it at all. I don't know what I'm having yet.

Don't be disappointed. MS is a living hell. I had it equally as bad with all of my children, gender doesn't matter.

Agreed. Nothing too it. I have seen friends be hugely sick with boys and others not a bout of sickness with girls, I can't see any pattern there at all. Five weeks is still really early too, it only really hit me at 7-8 weeks.

Nothing to it, my mother had 3 girls, zero sickness. The same with my SIL.

Two good friends were pregnant for the second time after having boys (and no morning sickness in the first pregnancy) and were throwing up all the time, really convinced a girl was coming this time... They both got boys!

So, keep your hopes up :)

Unfortunately it can still happen. Well i understand you're hoping for it, but it started at around 7/8 weeks with me. And about all day long or quite some times a day with About 2-5 times of vomiting a day. And it lasted for about 22 weeks! No pleasure i can tell you! I head very little to zero with my boys so yes I'm hoping this could be a girl, but I'm well aware that it is not really gender related. I'm now 30+ weeks pg and still have moments of nausea and even throwing up.

I didn't have steady MS until 6 weeks or so, though it was just nausea. And I had a girl! My cousin in law had horrible MS with her son, then nothing with her daughter.

There is truly nothing to the sex and MS. There's some evidence that MS can me a "stickier" pregnancy, but even then, the zygote isn't even relying on the body minus a period until 6 weeks or so (and some theorize that MS is the body protecting early development before the protective placenta is fully formed).

I have 4 girls and only had morning or should I say all day sickness with 2. I would not be disappointed about it at all. With my last girl which is 3 now I only threw up one time and that was it. Enjoy your pregnancy! And good luck on a baby girl!
