For those of you who have done IVF/PGD
Hello everyone,
We are considering IVF/PGD but held up on what to do with unused embryos. I would love to hear your experiences - what did you decide to do, did your thoughts change along the way (for example, I think my decision would be different if I had 2 extra embryos versus 8).
Very much looking forward to hearing your thoughts.2015

You may donate them or discard them. Those the the only two real options.
Donation is wonderful. You may do so anonymously. Most probably end up discarding the unused embryos.Mom to
and my IVF/PGD
It's better to look back on life and say: "I can't believe I did that" than to look back and say "I wish I did that".

Some people also choose to have them transferred at a point in their cycle that pregnancy could not occur. They feel this is more natural than discarding them. Best of luck for making this difficult decision.

It is a tough decision, and I didn't have any left over, but I know several lovely ladies who went the DE route who simply GUSHED at the generosity of their donors. It is a wonderful gift!
I think I would have donated if I had any left over (easy for me to say, right?) LOL.Sept 2008 & successful boy sway June 2010.

Is DE in my future?

hi! i'm still not sure what to do with my embryos! I saw you are in NY--I did it in NY too. I'll maybe donate my embryos although only 1 out of 3 was actually tested! LMK if you have any questions about doing ivf/pgd in NY--feel free to PM me.
(born March, 2012)--IVF at RMANY (no GS for first one since no real preference-said we'd do it for second one)--23 eggs--12 fertilized with ICSI--1 frozen
March/April 2013--SIRM NY--23 eggs, 15 embryos, 2 girls transferred, 1 girl and 1 unknown (only 4 celled at day 3 so no biopsy) frozen. BFP on HPT at 6dp5dt, Beta at 8dp5dt=70, Beta at 10dp5dt=216 , 1 hb at 6 weeks, ob appt at 7w2d--wow it's twins!!! CVS--2 HEALTHY GIRLS! Our twin girls were born 6 weeks early, but doing fabulously and we are so in love!! Our family is complete!!!

Does anyone know if it's possible to donate openly I, e. NOT anonymously? If I ever go IVF I would only feel comfortable donating extras if I could meet & choose the potential recipients and keep in touch on a yearly basis at the least.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period
Results 1 to 6 of 6
Bump
Not sure where to ask not TTC
