Anatomy scan results
An echogenic focus (EIF) was found on baby's heart at our ultrasound yesterday. I was sent to the lab for the Materniti21 test, but it could be up to two weeks before we get the results. Ugh! Anyone have experience with this? I'm trying my best to stay away from Googling!

Are you going to have a level II ultrasound too?
I just know what I have read and it sounds like it is likely 100% fine and there are no long term effects.

The high risk OB said he doesn't plan on bringing me back for a follow up ultrasound at this time. I'm assuming he wants to wait for the results?

He probably wants to wait for the blood results. It can be a soft marker for certain things like downs etc as well as nothing to worry about. It makes you wonder how many of us were born with such things but the equipment didn't exist to detect it with clarity. Just remember its not a for certain anything and hopefully your blood test comes back clear!

Agreed - I know knowledge is power, but it is times like this when I wonder if we know too much!

What you have to keep in mind is that many of these things are sort of "leftovers" from earlier stages of baby's development. This ~may~ be because there is actually something going wrong with the baby's development, but much more likely, it is just a little "oopsie" that happens because so many things have to go just exactly perfectly and sometimes a little error occurs that doesn't hurt anything at all. It is actually a pretty common thing and the vast majority of the time it turns out to be nothing of importance.

Atomic, this may sound crazy but I’ve been reading about moon phases… I have a ‘red moon cycle’ currently which I didn’t used to have. Meaning my period is coinciding with the full moon. From...
