Clomid days 3-7 vs 5-9?
Hi all!,
What’s the difference between taking clomid from days 3-7 vs. days 5-9? I read that some people said that you get a better egg is you take it from days 5-9 but more of a chance to get pregnant from taking it days 3-7? I’m on my second round of clomid (swaying blue) and took 50mg days 5-9 and progesterone was 18.6. I’m wondering if I should take it days 3-7 instead? What do you all think? Anyone who can share their experiences would be great! TIA.

The conventional wisdom is that taking it CD 5-9 is more likely to make one egg and thus prevent twinning. But I feel like we've seen higher rates of conception with 3-7 and still had more than a few twins on CD 5-9 regardless so I tend to favor CD 3-7.
BUT just to further complicate matters, I wonder if for blue, you may be better off taking it CD 5-9 because you'd have given a bit of time for estrogen to start rising on its own before the Clomid shuts it off for the 5 days you're taking it. I can imagine it might make it easier for your body to rebound and make a lot of estrogen very quickly - possibly helping your blue sway.

Oh no. Okay, so I guess days 5-9 are better for blue? Should I just stick with 5-9?

I don't know that (no one does, there's literally no research done on this) I am just trying to apply what I know about how it works to imagine what might be better. I do not know that for a fact, it's just what occurs to me as I think about it.
