Disappointed after my 6th BFN- advice please
Just wanting to see if anyone has any opinions as to if I am doing something really silly while TTC a pink sway. We have tried 6 times in the last 7 months and all have been BFNs and it is getting very disheartening.
Background: I'm 34.5 yrs old and got pregnant with DS1 after 2 tries. DH (now 33) was sperm tested 4 years ago and was said to have "superman" sperm and my eggs were apparently normal for a 30 year old.
Now: I'm VERY regular, I have a 28/29 day cycle and ovulate on day 14/15 like clockwork over the past 15 months. I do not exercise at all, I skip breakfast most days, I have 1-2 coffees with an equal and splash of milk, I have been about 90% veggie, I only take folic acid supplements, and I drink a lot of cinnamon based herbal tea (Bengal Spice). I was VERY good about ratios at first but I have been trying for 7 months and so the last two I have not been as good with low ratios but my weight has remained stable. My BMI was 20 but it has been 18.9 for the last 2-3 months. We were doing one attempt for the first two months, but since then have been doing every 4 days roughly - DB, off, off, BD, off, off, BD, then BD again bc this is the day I usually ovulate. I also use melatonin and a sedating antihistamine, Doxylamine Succinate, a few days a week (insomniac). My job is VERY stressful right now and I only sleep about 3 hours a night on average.
Any ideas on how I can boost my chances without killing a pink sway?
THANK YOU!

I would drop the cinnamon tea and melatonin if at all possible. Melatonin is not safe during pregnancy, may cause dvelopmental delays and I just cannot recommend it if you're trying to conceive.
I think you need to do every 4 days plus one more attempt at positive OPK and continue that even after you think you've ovulated.
Your body may not "want" to get pregnant with 3 hours of sleep. I suspect that may be causing more of an issue than you may realize. Is there anything you can do to unplug even just a bit from such a hectic schedule?

Thanks Atomic. I'll cut down my beloved tea and stop the melatonin. My job is horrendous (boss is a bully) but I am kind of stuck there for 12 more weeks until we move back to the city into our house that is being renovated (so yeah a lot of stress!). I might try a few more things to help with sleep, but this would be cutting down on coffee to having only one a day. I'm also wondering if my past history with an irritable uterus during pregnancy with my son might decrease my chances for implantation?
Thanks so much for responding! And I will follow your attempts suggestion. Fingers crossed!

Yes let's try cutting back on the coffee and see if it helps. I just can't imagine any person's body thinking "yes now is a great time to reproduce" when sleeping so little!!
I have an irritable uterus and didn't seem to have any trouble implanting. It's most likely a combo of bad luck and stress and just being exhausted!!

Thanks! I might also cut down on alcohol too...I usually have 4-5 glasses a week of white or rose. Worth cutting back on that too do you think? I made a GP appt just in case to make sure I don't have some weird imbalance or early menopause or something! Paranoid I know

4-5 glasses of wine a week I seriously doubt is causing you to get BFN.
Just be prepared sometimes the doctors will say really scary stuff but don't listen to them, they like to terrify people for some reason.

The only doctor I could get into quickly it turns out is a woman who has a special interest in "men's health and aboriginal mental health"....so I am not sure how great she will be for me anyways
I'd prefer not to give up wine, I have a beautiful new bottle in the fridge just begging to be drunk!

Is it ok to use antihistamine (like hydroxizin or Prometazin) for sleeping problems, or does it cut odds of conception? I use it sometimes when I have had sleeping problems several nights in a row. I don’t take it around ovulation though.

It cuts odds of conception but should be ok as long as you avoid it around O.
